The Huawei–Safaricom National FTTX Expansion Project is a large-scale fibre deployment initiative aimed at strengthening Safaricom’s fixed broadband and transport infrastructure across Kenya. Working under Huawei Kenya Limited, Sapashe executed an extensive rollout covering 5,000 Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) connections, 100 Fibre-to-the-Building (FTTB) deployments, and 300 km of Fibre-to-the-Street (FTTS) backbone and distribution routes.

Our team delivered full-scope implementation including network planning, GIS-based route mapping, wayleave acquisition, civil works, micro-trenching, fibre installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning. This comprehensive deployment enhances Safaricom’s ability to deliver high-speed internet to residential users, improve enterprise connectivity in commercial buildings, and reinforce metro transport capacity across key regions.

By expanding both last-mile and backbone connections, the project significantly boosts Kenya’s digital infrastructure, supporting economic growth, digital transformation, and improved customer experience for millions of Safaricom users.
