Clinical Language Model Project

The project involves the creation of a domain-specific small language model designed for HIV clinical care. Built using curated medical datasets and national treatment guidelines, the model supports clinicians with contextual recommendations, quick guideline lookups, and improved point-of-care documentation.

Sapashe’s team developed, fine-tuned, and tested the model using responsible AI practices to ensure consistency, safety, and clinical alignment. The tool enhances clinical workflow efficiency and strengthens decision support at facility and community care levels.
